The long-term training course Diversity and Cohesion aim to:
Train and empower minority youth leaders and youth workers to develop local youth projects and associative strategies aimed at promoting social cohesion and the respect for cultural diversity across Europe.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_photo_album column=”1″ album_height=”500″ description_preview=”false” thumbnail_preview=”false” posts=”3990″ overlay_background=”rgba(30,115,190,0.5)” title_animation=”scale_in” overlay_hover_animation=”ripple”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Objectives of the course:
- to empower and develop the competence of youth workers and youth leaders in designing and implementing projects based on social cohesion;
- to support/promote minority youth participation from the local level to the national and European level;
- to enable participants to address issues of relevance to the course such as cultural identity, Europe, discrimination, social exclusion, cultural diversity and majority-minority relations;
- to initiate innovative local youth projects on diversity and cohesion;
- to develop practical approaches and methods for translating citizenship, social cohesion, intercultural learning and human rights education into youth work practice;
- to develop participants’ skills in the areas of human rights education, intercultural learning, leadership and programme development;
- to provide information and facilitate contacts with the European institutions and youth policies relevant to the issues of the course;
- to motivate and enable participants to share their acquired knowledge and experience and to act as multipliers after the course.
Objectives of the initial training seminar:
- to identify and analyse the challenges faced by minority youth in Europe based on the participants realities;
- to enable the participants to develop projects on minority youth participation within a framework of democratic citizenship, social cohesion and cultural diversity;
- to create the conditions for communication and common work among participants and trainers in the course;
- to explore the meanings and forms of social cohesion and cultural diversity in the context of the course;
- to introduce the concepts and relevant practices of intercultural learning, human rights education and youth participation.
- to provide the participants with essential information on fundraising for their projects;
- to introduce the Council of Europe and its work in the field of Cultural Diversity and Social Cohesion;
- to develop participants’ competences for project planning and development;
- to discuss and deepen the criteria of the projects;
- to develop and structure the projects of the participants;
- to identify learning needs related to the projects developed by the participants;
- to initiate and support the networking and communication among the participants;
- to plan the next phases of the course.

My project: Project „Chance” aims at preparing a group of young people (youth workers, students, volunteers, deaf people and people with hearing impairment) to create new methodologies and new elements of education for deaf young people and people with hearing impairment. This group will be trained and will gain knowledge and new competencies in applying the new methodologies in working with deaf people.
French version: Le Projet « Saisir sa chance » a pour but de preparer un groupe de jeunes (travailleurs de jeunesse, etudiants, benevoles, sourds et personnes ayant des difficultes d’audition a elaborer de nouvelles methodes et de nouveaux materiels pedagogiques a l’usage des personnes sourdes et malentendantes.
